Eliot Spitzer: 'Cat with nine lives.'

CNN reject Eliot Spitzer wraps up two nights filling Keith Olbermann's Countdown shoes on Current TV -- the TV news equivalent of Hollywood's motion picture home where faded stars go to die -- spinning the results of Tuesday's Republican primary.  "Multiple personalities."  "A cat with nine lives." "You got to believe that at sometime, game over."

Spitzer's not talking about himself.  Newt Gingrich.

Spitzer Monday on himself Newt: "Enough is enough. This is becoming an act of self-indulgence. Enormous. Sort of, just sort of an act of complete, you know, self-centered maniacal behavior."

Supposedly Olbermann's excuse for not covering the Repub primary is bronchitis.  Is this a tryout for Spitzer who hasn't been seen on tee vee since CNN in July?

Spitzer obviously has no illusions about working at Fox News, fingering Roger Ailes twice Monday as part of the "Republican Establishment."  Spitzer on Newt's lone Nevada billionaire benefactor:  "If Roger Ailes picks up the phone and says 'What are you doing?  You're going to re-elect Barack Obama?' that spigot may be turned off. . . . If they turn off that spigot, then Newt Gingrich will be gone."

The spigot quote appears on the Countdown website without the reference to Ailes.

  4. He'd better make this work, or it's down to You-Tube.  Or door-to-door.
