  2. I just returned from voting.  First time on a bicycle!  Talked with a Santorum rep outside the polling place.  He related a story about dealing with the Romney people's demands.  The New Jersey native and political veteran was turned off by the Romney campaign ignoring his phone calls when he wanted to set up an event here but phoning him demanding he turn out people to an event in Charleston scheduled by the campaign.

<span>"But more than a jilted spouse, Marianne Gingrich serves as a window into the complicated psyche of a man who, those who know him say, seems</span> <span>to need a woman by his side."</span>

This is some B.S. anyalsis from the NYT. If you are a grown man, say like Mark Foley in Florida, or Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and you are of a certain age, and unmarried people will talk.....hell people talk even if you are married, look at the late governor of New Jersey, when he came out of the closet. His wife was basically a political beard.

The idea that a career politician wouldn't calculate his marital state into his public persona seems like a poor politician that wouldn't last long in public life. The New York Times is straining to make Gingrich appear "fragile" It's not working, people are watching the debates.

I have no doubt that Gingrich comparmentalizes his life, but that's not an uncommon trait among men.

The article states he takes Calista with him every where, and shares his professional life with her. Somehow though, I doubt to this day that Newt Gingrich has met his intellectual match in a life partner IMO, Clasita comes off as Stepford wife.

And Imus was calling Newt a Mutt yesterday morning on the program. Imus is really invested in the Romney candidacy :)  I can't remember the last time Imus backed a winner?

  5. ABO 2012.
Lordy, I hope the tea party keeps that in mind, and doesn't go off on some ideological purity test while engaging in the Gross National Pout if their guy doesn't get nominated.

Romney messed up, when he didn't have a ready answer for why he doesn't release his taxes. Imus was kicking Romney for it. It's probably something to do with optics - how much money Romney makes compared to Romney's sales pitch during the campaign. His campaign rhetoric probably doesn't match the tale his tax returns would tell :)   I think Imus and Chris Christie are right. Romney should just release them get it over with. It will last a couple days in the news, and then blow over.
