Rather than simply ignoring the ambush, O'Reilly bit the bait and hit Lane with his umbrella. Hypocritical O'Reilly, with a producer on staff specializing in ambushes, strangely spun the incident on Thursday's No Spin Zone.
Bully O'Reilly: You own your own reaction. And in this case, it was inappropriate, undignified, and childishly reactionary.

I respect your stance, Thomas. I am a firm believer in not allowing anyone to push my buttons. O'Reilly shouldn't be complaining about ambushes while siccing Jesse on hapless targets.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I don't really see the hypocrisy factor here. O'Reilly is a public figure, but everybody knows, including Bill, that a lot of people hate his guts and would not mind shanking him right there on the sidewalk. I try to avoid it but I do read and hear very nasty things that people say about him. He himself has repeatedly mentioned death threats that he has received and turned over to the authorities to investigate. So I would be on my guard too if I were him walking down the street on a rainy night in the dark.
ReplyDeleteAnd when it comes to Jesse Watters, he does his ambushes in the opposite environment and way than the occupier did his. Jesse does his thing during a clear day, and always informs his target who he is and who he works for first. He also only goes after people who are already in the media spotlight because of some controversial thing they may have said or did, like a judge who gave a bad ruling or a politician caught in a scandal. I've never seen him go after any innocent, unknown person.
So I guess we'll just agree to civilly disagree on this. Nevertheless, you still rock.
