GE NBC's Jeff Immelt Among Forbes "70 Who Matter"

GE CEO and Obama Jobs Czar Jeffrey Immelt, with an income of "$21,428,765 as of November 2011," clocks in at #28 on Forbes mag 70 World's Most Powerful list aka "The 70 Who Matter."  Immelt on the move from #35 in 2010. Higher than the Google boys, North Korean wack job Kim Jong-il. Ahead of the billionaire conservative Koch brothers. So powerful with round-the-clock tax lawyers hell-bent on GE skating on taxes that anti-matter Occupy Wall Street and members of its splinter groups bused to Immelt's multimillion dollar Connecticut manse in chi-chi New Canaan Oct. 22. (On Oct. 13, I suggested OWS take a train to Immelt's digs.)

Forbes Clare "I'm on the billionaire beat.  I cover wealth and all its trappings" O'Connor scribe erroneously opines that Immelt "actually came out in support" of the protesters.  Actually, no.  Immelt had said "we have to be empathetic" in a semantic tap dance.

Intriguingly not one word or photo on  Immelt's cozy relationship with Obama (state dinner, Obama jobs bill Congress pimp VIP seat near Michelle in House gallery), his gig as chairman of Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, or GE's billions of deals with Forbes #3 (#1 last year) China's President Hu Jintao. (Obama back on top 2011.)
