Chris Matthews: Obtrusive Zero

MSNBC's Hardball host Chris Matthews hasn't been the same since he supposedly stopped boozing on account of diabetes. "Thrill up my leg" Obama orgasm.  Anti-women rants (Hillary, Michele Bachmann, Palin). Conflict-of inerest: delusions of Senate grandeur while allegedly committing journalism.  Fights with fellow MSNBC hosts. "Fuck you" in dismissing a query (Jeff Bercovici Forbes) the sexagenarian scribe employed a ghost to write his new JFK book which Amazon dropped in price from $27.50 to $14.47 within three days of the Nov. 1 release.

Matthews is on a book pimp ($45 for "premium seats" Nov. 8 Palo Alto) and for some bizarre reason, is reported to be obsessing aloud about the Fox News jobs "friend" Roger Ailes once dangled before him.

Deadline finds:  (a) Over a decade ago Ailes revisited Matthews whom he'd hired to host a cable show 17 years ago in 1994 pre-Fox; (b) Fox News, founded by Ailes in 1996, is consistently #1, creaming rivals MSNBC and CNN; (c) Fox hadn't reached its ratings zenith when Ailes approached Matthews.

A Fox suit muses aloud, "Where would we put [Matthews] now? Maybe as a lead-in to Red Eye."

Matthews, nearly 70 now, lost the thrill up his leg in October when Fox's 3a show Red Eye smoked Hardball in the golden 25-54 demo ratings. Deadline
