CBS to Charlie Rose: Wake Up Little Boozy!

NYP Page Six can be so diplomatic.  It's more like how will CBS sober up Charlie.

"The plan already is the talk of the tight-knit, gossipy New York television news industry. But will it be talked about anywhere else?"  NYT media scribe Brian Stelter "It will emphasize hard news and use a conversational approach like “Morning Joe” on MSNBC and “The View” on ABC."

What a surprise!  The Early Show's retooler is Morning Joe's former EP Chris Licht.

  1. I'm tellin'ya:  Charlie and Chris Matthews, both hungover, both unshaven, in bathrobes and flipflops, grousing and belching and scratching thru the morning like so many viewers.

  3. God, I hate that word used so much to describe TV shows as "conversation."  Fuck your conversation!  Just gimme the news!

  4. But people watch because they're waiting for the train wreck, the gaffe, the crash.

  9. Charlie's questions are so F*&^ing long they're going to last for an entire segment. This ain't gonna work, even if they're letting him have a 'conversation" with a newsmaker. He's going to get ticked because he won't be given enough time. This is a different world Charlie.

  10. And he's pushing 70.  It's true that decades of drink have ruined his looks.  He was handsome when I knew him.

  11. Yeah.  Jokester Chris Licht, Morning Joe's ex-EP.  Licht had Gayle on Morning Joe before he left.  Sort of an audition.
