ReplyDeleteAlthough, saying the issues have never quite hit home to this degree, is a bit of hyperbole. I think they may have hit home a tad harder in the early 30's, when the jobless rate was nearly 3 times what it is now.
I agree with your degree analysis. And I should've reversed Carville's famous 1992 quote.

ReplyDeleteNo question; it was worse in the early '30s. Yet voters kept re-electing FDR. I wouldn't bet on Obama being a one term president.
