Larry's Standard Oil

The cheese stands alone
"I'm very funny!" Septuagenarian Larry King in a NYDN pimp of the May 14th kickoff of his new career as a stand-up comedianLarry claims he's been working on his routine the past two months.

Those who know Larry and have heard his "funny stories" more than once, are skeptical. We'll see if his hype has legs to stand on.

  1. Has he no shame, no dignity left, that he must remake himself as a clown for public viewing?
Go home, MrKing.  Fish, write a book, sit in a rocking chair, take up knitting, become a mentor but please, go home.

  3. There's no doubt about it--Larry IS a great storyteller.
But they're always the same stories.
If you go, make sure you have plenty of booze handy, and take a drink every time you hear one of these actual lines:
    "Moppo--go home!  You're dead!"
"I dunno--some guy named Boom Boom Giorno".
"I then did 30 minutes on the U.S. merchant marine"
"Vere da nights--vere da nights--vere da nights..."
"I saved the life of the general manager of channel 5 that day."
"Thank god they didn't give me a plaque."
I guarantee, if you play The Larry King Drinking Game, you'll leave snockered.
