Larry's Lap Dance

CNN's Larry King exit strategy.  Nonexistent? NYT's David Carr - not on CNN's payroll unlike Wash Post's Howard Kurtz - divines a novel way for Larry, 77 in November, to save face while raking in ratings. 'Why not announce a yearlong victory lap for Mr. King? You could probably count on both Obamas, both Clintons, both George Bushes, both Martha and Jon Stewart, with maybe some Tiger, a little Oprah, all stopping by for some much deserved [lap-dancing] ring-kissing.'

King's contract expires next May.  Brit Piers Morgan is the name bandied about to succeed Larry.

Over at CBS News '60 Minutes,' Andy Rooney, 92 in January 2011, claims they'll have to haul him out in a body bag.  Not exactly his words.  The curmudgeon with annoyingly ungroomed eyebrows that resemble rodents vows to work 'until I die.'   TVNewser's Gail Shister talked to the old guy who has no idea who Lady Gaga is, unlike young'un Larry King.

Chickaboomer death watch:  Who's gonna die first?  Andy Rooney or Larry King?

I say Larry.  No way can his ego exist on this earth plane without life-giving TV face time.

  2. I agree with Sandra, LArry has exited the planet and someone frogot to notify him or his staff. Put sun glasses on hime and carry him around and it could be a funny movie. Call it Weekend at Larry's.

  3. I hope we offer him something on the weekend at Westwood One, but I have no information whatsoever indicating an interest in doing so.
