Why is it that veteran Real Journalist Helen Thomas was forced to resign for this . . .
. . . while MSNBC's The Great Illuminator pretender Keith Olbermann is still on the air after branding prominent First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams (Jewish father of former MSNBC suit and host Dan Abrams) a Nazi - back in January.
At least Lebanese-American Helen apologized after her 89-year-old tongue impalement. Olbermann (a) only admitted on air he was 'over the top lately,' (b) possesses a nearly 40-years-younger brain in his oversized head, and (c) is not of Arab descent.

ReplyDeleteYour personal loyalty is admirable, but KO doesn't have WH press credentials, does he? If he does, then the comparison stands, but if not, I don't think it's a valid contrast.
ReplyDeleteThe issues with HT was not her Arab descent but (a)her status as a consistently and overtly anti-Israel, though not very impressive, WH correspondent known more for passing off speeches as "questions" rather than actually breaking much news, and (b) whether or not WH correspondents and the WH would actually do anything about her latest outburst of outright anti-Semitic bigotry.
And just for the record, my ancestors never wandered the desert/Schwarzwald; they wore kilts and enjoyed killing each other when not killing Romans, Vikings, Englishmen, etc., until wisely redirected toward slaughtering the Enemies of the Crown (now known as "Our NATO Allies").
The short answer is that she had to go because she was, essentially, advocating for the destruction and elimination of Israel.

Her timing is impeccable--as the Israeli firsters grasp for redemption and diversionary tactics in the wake of the indefensible attack on the humanitarian aid flotilla.

I forgot one more thing, Israel isn't the only country that has a legal blockade at the Gaza strip. Egypt also has a blockade at Gaza for the same very reason as Israel...

why is it that people who say things they truly believe always apologize for what they said. Thomas really believes that Jews are treading on Arab soil so stand up for your beliefs Helen. No need to apologize to anyone. its your opinion. Jimmy the Greek had to apologize when he said what he thought was complimentary stuff about black people. he really believed it. he died a broken man. don't apologize, you end up broken anyway.
