In a case brought by a DC gun owner, the Supreme Court predictably splits 5-4 in a victory for gun nuts like me. The court also revisited a similar restrictive Chicago city law.

So don't mess with me and my Taurus .38 resting comfortably in the console of my Mercedes Benz . . .

The Supreme Court made my day.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little worried about this. When fed laws are less restrictive than local laws, this works in gun owners' favor, but what if, for instance, the "assault weapons" ban is reinstated? Then what? To me this is a dangerous "all or nothing" proposition, although I guess I don't have a good alternative. Well I have one, but I don't think it'll really fly these days.
