Stillborn. In the ratings. CNN's much-hyped Soledad O'Brien doc on two gay guys lusting for a baby a ratings abortion. The stork delivered nothing but a bundle of pre-'special' ploy for ratings that never materialized.
TVbytheNumbers Bill Gorman: The special averaged just 580,000 viewers with 139,000 in adults 25-54 and ranked in fourth place amongst all the cable news nets during that time period. The special’s viewership was slightly above last Thursday’s 8pm Campbell Brown, but below it in the cable news target adults 25-54 demo.
Hardly special.

I guess CNN viewers aren't as dumb as I thought.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm sure CNN will air the highlights of the next S.F. Gay Pride Parade that showcase gays running around in their jockstraps, as it's always a ratings winner. Some networks never learn.
Here's the deal: the gay parent debate is an old one. My husband is an ob/gyn and reports studies show kids are more well-adjusted with gay parents than straight. I know it is a generality, but I'm just telling you what he said this a.m. when we were talking about the story.
ReplyDeleteCNN is johnny come lately on this.
i just get tired of "celebrating" gaydom. (Is that a word?)
ReplyDeleteI don't think so, Tim, but it sounds good.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Mike Huckabee discussing the Gay "Ick Factor" on FNS yesterday morning? Does this qualify?
ReplyDeleteOk, I admit I watched the whole thing because my WIFE, who works OBGYN in a hospital wanted to see it. She see this every day. No greater love hath a man for his wife that watching a boing ass program on CNN...
