Wednesday Pravda ('truth' in Russian) called the spy scandal 'a mountain in a molehill.'
The New York Times misses the point by mminimizing the intelligence the 11-member U.S. embedded spy ring got. The point is they successfully passed themselves off as Americans with phony names and fake histories to assimilate into American society. And it appears they succeeded in fooling neighbors, friends, and professional colleagues.
These spies - known as 'illegals' because they don't have diplomatic cover - are a staple of Russian intelligence operations.,
Memo to the Washington Post: It's 'Moscow Centre' not 'Center.' Same to the NYP. There's no more KGB. SVR is equivalent to America's CIA and the Brits MI5. The Russian counterpart to the FBI is the FSB.
