Pall Over Pol Paul. BP: Bags "Press"

For ophthmalogist Dr. Rand Paul, hindsight is 20/20. The Tea Party pol and son of Texas Repub Rep. Ron Paul and upset winner of Tuesday's Kentucky Repub Senate primary bags NBC's "Meet The Press" Sunday appearance after hitting TV right out of the blocks

Did Paul pull out after MSNBC's "Morning Joe" host and former Repub congressman Joe Scarborough bites the hand that feeds:  "What the hell was he doing on MSNBC?" Paul went on Joe's colleague Rachel Maddow's show the night after he won.  [Paul dumps on Rachel here]

Republicans and MSNBC: oil and water. Same for Dems and Fox News. Don't mix.  Joe revises and extends with:  "This is not anti-MSNBC."  He's right.

This is Paul's virgin campaign in the oily, slick blood sport of politics and media.

The NYT quotes MTP's EP Betsy Fischer marveling how rare it is for anyone to cancel.  Only two booked guests.  Ever.

Paul's been mauled by the media since Tuesday's election for 1) comments he made about the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and 2) criticism of Obama's handling of the BP disaster.

  3. MSnbc finally did something right exposing this man for what he is and that is totally unqualified to represent anybody in Congress.

  4. @Anonymous

As if anyone in Congress now is qualified to represent us? Come on! They didn't listen to us about health care, financial reform is going to destroy us, they are demonizing a sovereign state, cheering when a leader from another country tells us what we are doing wrong (have you read/heard Mexico's immigration law?)... We have so-called reps comparing opposition to Hitler and terrorists. We have a President refusing to take questions from the media and in fact, trying to control his message with his own little production staff. And you worry about Paul. Paul is a small concern compared to what we have now, the ones in charge.

  5. You put an inexperienced ideologue in there and what do you expect? The Pauls of the world versus the Obamas of the world?
    God help us.
