"I have sinned."

Fox News broke the news Tuesday a.m. of eight-term Republican Congressman Mark Souder's resignation over an affair with a fortyish congressional staffer in one of his Indiana district office.

Souder didn't want to face the House Pathetics Ethics Committee over the charges.  In the old days it was relatively smooth sailing driving the Love Boat through the House ethics chasm.  But now Souder is blaming the "poisonous environment in Washington, DC."

Souder's big issue was promoting teenage sex abstinence.  Watch the video.

Fox News got its hot little hands on Souder's statement where he says (unbelievably): "I wish I could have been a better example."  The Washington Post reports Souder's Washington staff was tipped off by an informant claiming Souder arranged his trysts in an Fort Wayne, Indiana state park.  How romantic. I'm sure the licentious lovers ran into teen couples practicing abstinence.  Souder's wife wasn't standing by her man at Tuesday's resignation announcement in Fort Wayne.

Not all trips were to state parks for illicit trysts.  Here's Souder on the House floor telling his colleagues he spent "four days on the Southwest border," ticking off a list which included Tracy Jackson:

Fox reports rumors of the affair with Tracy Jackson (left) dogged Souder, 59, during his primary which he barely survived two weeks agoJackson, of Syracuse, is married to a county comissioner.

Jackson worked part-time in one of Souder's district offices and is listed on the Syracuse- Wawasee Chamber of Commerce web site as a Mary Kay cosmetics saleswoman and on the Mary Kay website.

The aggrieved husband is Bradford (Brad) Jackson, a Kosciusko County commissioner.  Photo, left, December 2006. Jackson is president of T.L. Construction company in Syracuse, Indiana, founded by his dad, Tom, in the 1970s.

It's almost unbearable to watch pretty Tracy Jackson interview dweeby, short-finger flapper Souder on teen abstinence education:

  1. THAT'S IT. I'm definitely running for Congress. Apparently, no matter how dorky you look, you can get laid by women who otherwise would have been WAY out of your league.

  2. No shit, Burford. Remember what a babe magnet Henry Kissinger was during the Nixon years, insisting on being placed with the hottest babes at WH State Dinners...

  5. It's not looks, it's power. And power can be a great aphrodisiac.

  8. Did they use a condom, or would that be violating their 'abstinence' pledge? What were they thinking in the dweeby abstinence video- when to schedule the next trip down to the park to do some 'field research' on abstinence effectiveness? She is attractive and his is such a pud.

  9. I have no idea, CBers, but this is sick. Meeting in a park like teenagers?

I'd rather use my vibrator than sleep with that fat-fingered fuck.

  11. All politicians are narcassisitic douch bags. Any one of them would drop his or her drawers for a poke if given the opportunity. Marty correct me if I am wrong - you were married to one once and I am sure you have been hit on by plenty.

  12. As a member of the 3rd district which Souder represented, I can only state that these two desevered each other- to understand the magnitude of this scam they conducted- one must first know they went to many churches, led prayer breakfasts and were noted for their "values" and "God fearing" quaities- qualities shoved down voters throats while they prayed and sought, "God's will" for our country- putting down liberals for being against God's plan for our nation, etc- An elaborate scam when you think that the Washington Post cites the affair as starting in 2004. There are few people in our local communities that don't know or know of them personally. Plus, you might add an alleged RV to the affair hot spots, too...here's a link to my tongue in cheek article on this, with backlinks to our local news reporter who dug up more details...
Its very sad. Souder is why I switched parties last year.
