Sarah Palin on the reconstituted Jay Leno show in bootcut jeans, black high heels, a black jacket, and her trademark hairdo, performs a comedy routine where she jabs: "I'm glad I'm not vice president. I wouldn't know what to do with all that free time." About five minutes in:
USA TODAY's TV critic concludes Sarah's shtick was "more brave than amusing."
EW reviews with video.
Baltimore Sun TV critic David Zurawik: Palin is at her most disingenuous when she plays media critic this way. And Leno should have had his act together enough to at least gently ask her if she did respond to press attempts to get her side of the story out. But waiting for Leno to do anything but ask softball questions is a fool's errand.
Here is what she said about the Tea Party: It is an uprising of the people -- an uprising of the people to say, 'Hey, Government, we are not to be working for you. You are to be working for us. Let's get government back on our side.' So heaven forbid the Tea Party movement think that they need an individual, a politician to put their faith in, to be their leader."
This is, by the way, textbook in how politicians can use entertainment media for getting their points of view out on controversial matters like the Tea Party movement without fear of being questioned.
These two really do seem to deserve each other.
All wee wee'd up, it's not that hard to get the left all wee wee'd up, but if it was an Olympic game Sarah, would be medaling.
ReplyDeleteCute act; good to see her having some fun. Sadly the line-up of MSNBC will have a field day savaging her...Truly sad.
ReplyDeleteI have a press pass from a local paper in Alaska and you had better stay away from there if you want to bad mouth her. She LOWERED her salary as mayor! She lowered TAXES! She has met a payroll, raised a family, paid for her own education. She makes liberals wet their pants. Get over it! She is the real deal and not your usual D.C. perp.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alaska! David Zurawik is dead meat in Juneau!
ReplyDeleteAnd BTW I love Palin's energy! She did a great job on Leno.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone read GAME CHANGERS by those two liberals John Heilman and Mark Halperin? I just finished it last night. It was incredibly biased against the 2008 presidential Repubs McCain & Palin. There was a lot of stuff the two authors left out.
She is still an anchor around the next of the GOP. If you want 4 more years of Obama, keep her out front and on the hustings.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYes, and anchor. Let's see, she supported Perry and he won the Texas GOP primaries. Obama goes out and shills for Reid and now about 10 percent more Nevadans said they wouldn't vote for Reid.
Keep thinking she's an anchor around the neck (I assume that's what you meant to type) around the GOP, and Obama's doing a great job.
It was a closed GOP primary, you lunkhead! Of course he won. If Perry loses the general in Texas, I will suspect White put somethign in the water supply. Bottom line is she cannot win a general election. She has too many negative, plus she is dumb as a box of rocks. If she is the nominee, Obama gets another term. That's what scares me. Wise up!
