Isn't It Rich? Isn't It Queer? Send In The Clowns....

I caught the first hour of Mark Steyn sitting in for Rush Limbaugh and enjoyed his take on Obama's health reform law and NYT columnist Frank Rich's Sunday smackdown of its opponents.  Our Komrades at Media Matters don't  like it so much.

Here's Frank claiming "the rage is not about health care":  "If Obama’s first legislative priority had been immigration or financial reform or climate change, we would have seen the same trajectory. The conjunction of a black president and a female speaker of the House — topped off by a wise Latina on the Supreme Court and a powerful gay Congressional committee chairman — would sow fears of disenfranchisement among a dwindling and threatened minority in the country no matter what policies were in play."

How else is one to read into it as Steyn did?  The opposition is a foaming bunch of racist, misogynistic homophobes.

What Media Matters leaves out is Steyn (right) - a Canadian - witnessed whitebread opposition to universal health care in England and Canada.  To make the discussion about race, sex, or sexual orientation is fatuous and a pitchfork in Frank Rich's balloon.

What do you think?  I found Steyn's spin sound.

  1. I sometimes have difficulty convincing myself that Steyn is Canadian. He's always balls out and usually right.

  2. I remember Mark Steyn had a complaint filed against him by Canadian Islamic Congress to the Human Rights Commission in Canada about his opinion on Islam which they claim violated their human rights...

  3. I agree with you - Steyn's spin was sound.

  4. Thanks Marty, because all I read about is Frank Rich's white people feel threatened propaganda. Which can, using his own anecdotal style be shot down...oh no did I use the word "shot" that must be some kind of violent language LOL!

Ask Kenneth Gladney who was beat down by SEIU thugs last summer at a St Louis Town Hall.

Or ask Eric Cantor (R) about violent language inciting - who right wingers? Not hardly.

  5. Marty, have you seen the latest Chris Matthews, you know the old Jeff Foxworthy jokes, you might be a redneck...well Chris Matthews apparently applies the same criteria to- if your White, and you don't like European Socialism - "You Might Be A Racist"

TEA Party (T)axed (E)nough (A)lready. Why are they so dense it's the growth of the Federal Government it's not cheap to Grow the Federal Government it's cost a lot of American Tax Payer's Money. That's where TEA comes from...we are Tea'd Off...Professor: this is simply not what is going on here -there is a duly elected Government....21% of people think they are being Governed by their own consent.

This is why MSNBC is last in the ratings because it's audience is in the minority. These people are looking for racist because God Forbid NO One accepts their policies of Wealth Redistribution...imagine that a professor at Princeton, and a commentator on a low rated cable news channel, think employing European Socialism, applied top down to the USA, is a great idea, what's wrong with these racist hillbillies, don't they know this is good for them/SARC.

I hated healthcare "reform" just as much when a lardassed middle-aged white woman tried to impose it on us in 1993-94.

  7. Steyn is right on. Rich, as usual, ignores the admonition not to shoot yourself in the foot right after stepping on your dick.

  8. Rich couldn't step on his dick in his wildest dreams, Jimbo. He can barely grasp it between thumb and forefinger. That's why he's so freaking angry all the time.

  9. OMG! Jimbo and Jazz no one can top that, and be so right, we're all racist, dare to say a thing against the almighty obama and your a racist, but loved Steyn, he is also so funny and so right, he made me laugh " living la vida loca" for the three hours he said, la vida broken, so true huh?

  10. Rich is so over the top it's ridiculous.

Now poor ole Michael Steele is under the gun for (oooh I said gun) but those who criticize him aren't racist. No. Not. at. all.

The argument has been lost if all they have is the kind of outlandish accusation voiced by Frankie in that article.

And Mark Styne is one funny guy. And he is absolutely on target. (oooh, I said target). Shoot me.
