Michael, it's moot. Campbell's abject ratings flop will force CNN to retool prime time, thus banishing the political issue.
In the past CNN has gone to great lengths to avoid political controversy involving talent. Former Atlanta-based anchoress Daryn Kagan was reportedly ordered to not wear the giant engagement ring on the air that then-fiance Rush Limbaugh gave her. CNN wasn't happy about the media speculation about impending nuptials during their two-year high-profile relationship. CNN declined to renew her contract before the pair broke up in 2006. Daryn, a 12-year CNN veteran, vanished not long after. Daryn claimed she was not pushed, but left to

I remember back during the Michael Vick controversy, Jane Skinner (who's husband is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell) had to step aside and let Shepard Smith cover the story at one time.
