Before the body is even cold.
The Martha Coakley circle jerk has turned into a circular firing squad with the candidate herself taking most of the shots. You can't blame the Coakley campaign for complacency in what critics claim was a lousy campaign. The special election to fill Ted Kennedy's Senate shoes was billed as a slam-dunk for Coakley. The buck stops with the smug Massachusetts state Dems and the DNCC blindsided by Repub Scott Brown's campaign focused on the real issue: the economy and jobs. Obama and the top Dems pushed health care reform which polls show most Massachusetts voters oppose.
Plan B in the event of a Brown victory which takes away the Dems' 60 vote Senate majority: Make the House pass the Senate health care bill.
Tuesday headlines: "Mass. Hysteria." "Critical Mass." "Mass. Defection."

obama's elitist arrogance was at it's best when he was slamming Brown for driving a truck. A frigging GM 'er obama motors truck BTW. We can add that to the guns and religion line.
ReplyDeleteIf the House passes the Senate version, how will they explain it to the unions? The Senate bill is the one that has the 40 percent tax on Cadillac plans, right?
ReplyDeleteBeing an election year, would they risk pissing off the unions, and thus losing their support?
There hasn't been a republican senator from Massachusetts since 1978 and Ed Brooke. This seat hasn't been republican since Henry Cabot Lodge was beaten by Jack Kennedy in 1952.
ReplyDeleteFinally Change we can believe in.
ReplyDeleteI live in the state and for the past few days its been ad after ad after ad. can;t wait till its over. Seeing the same old ads are getting tiring. I have been writing some posts about the election
ReplyDelete……..“Anybody can own a truck.”……….
ReplyDeleteHe should know, he’s married to one.
You really shouldn’t talk about the First Clydesdale like that. Trucks might get insulted.
I’d trust any truck driver much more than I trust Obummer the limo/jet rider.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has missed the punchline of Obama’s ridiculing of Brown’s truck. Listen carefully after saying Martha might not want to get in the truck, he adds…. “you might want to look under the hood.” I don’t think he was refering to the truck hood. As a former speechwriter, I have a feeling that THIS was the ultimate message -as a reminder to his liberal audience about those rednecks who wear hoods.
ReplyDeleteEd Brooke? I guess this means that Barbara Walters will be sleeping with Scott Brown now.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Henry Cabot Lodge? Maybe Archie, Jughead, Reggie, Veronica, and Betty can get in on that circle jerk too.
Anon, interesting observation about Obama's truck/hood comments...
ReplyDeleteWC: Barbara's got a boyfriend. The actor who had the lead in Bram Stoker's "Dracula."
