CNN Works That Old Black Magic Amid Obama's Voodoo Economics

Or is it CNN's voodoo economics and Obama's old black magic? LAT's James Rainey crawls up Anderson Cooper's ass.  As in Fox News dropped the ball on Haiti.  Let's get real.  Fox's star quarterbacks didn't want to run the field with that ball but got the ratings touchdown anywayHow could that be, whines Media Matters, when the top-rated Fox shows pissed in the ocean compared to MSNBC's prime time tremblors?

Fox allowed fourth place prime time cable news network a fleeting ratings glimnmer as CNN's Haiti extravaganza beat MSNBC. CNN:  Live And Let Die. Other than Michael Jackson's demise, it's been five years since CNN ate that deadly tsunami and vomited ratings.

Anderson Cooper's Witchcraft
That sly come-hither stare
That strips my conscience bare
It's witchcraft
And I've got no defense for it
The heat is too intense for it
What good would common sense for it do
'Cause it's witchcraft, wicked witchcraft
And although, I know, it's strictly taboo
When you arouse the need in me
My heart says yes indeed in me
Proceed with what your leading me to

Obama's Cole Porter voodoo:
You do something to me,
something that simply mystifies me.
Tell me, why should it be
you have the power to hypnotize me?
Let me live 'neath your spell,
Do do that voodoo
that you do so well.

CNN:  Once in a blue Moon doing the news voodoo that you do so well.  Will Haiti serve to reinvent CNN as "the most trusted name in news?"

  1. I watched both CNN & FNC those nights and I have to say that I didn't learn anything significant about the story from CNN that I didn't get on FNC.

While I understand some people want to watch that wall-to-wall style coverage of a disaster, I preferred FNC's approach balancing Haiti coverage with other programming.

  2. CNN loves that Anderson Cooper baffled wonderment...

  3. Or should I say bemused wonderment? Bemused doesn't mean yeah, I'm amused. It means Anderson is puzzled...

  4. I had to check my dvr... yes, "bemused" is the look permanently ironed onto his AC's face. And if he wore long black hair and mascara he'd pass for Alice Cooper, except not as masculine.

  5. Next time, Anderson's t-shirt will be wet.

  6. I briefly saw Geraldo this morning. It looked like he was wearing Anderson's t-shirt.
