1. Doctor My Eyes 2. Doctor, My Eyes

One of Michelle Obama's NYC fashion designers is donating that sweat-stained acid reflux dress to a lucky Haitian earthquake survivor in dire need of duds.

The New York Daily News invites you to "check out some of her memorable ensembles" in celebration of the First Lady's 46th birthday today, all of which are on loan to former Haitian despot Jean-Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier's ex-wife, "Madame Michele."  In 1986 the Duvaliers were spirited into Paris exile by the U.S. Air Force.  A separate plane hauled all the millions Duvalier stole and Michele's "priceless wardrobe." Thus ended the 28-year voodoo-fueled rule of the Duvalier father-and-son dictators.

The Wall Street Journal caught up with Baby Doc in 2003 where he moaned about his reversal of fortune.  But now, in a cruel twist of irony, the exiled thug who dispatched his feared secret police to murder thousands is offering sympathy and $8 mil to Haiti.  Translation:  He's buying his way back into Haiti promising looted blood money that isn't there. The man hasn't had a paying job since exile. Any stolen dough left languishes in frozen bank accounts. Duvalier strives to help the very people he harmed?  The height of chutzpah. It took a disaster to precipitate hand-wringing from the U.S. government which propped up a panoply of wretched Haitian "presidents" for decades.

Or the worst, as Bill "depends on what is, is" Clinton squirmed, prevaricated, and pointed his finger during his own personal crisis.

Oh, let's segue to the other Michelle. My favorite costume of Obama's first year in office.

  1. Haiti, like Somalia and a few other poor excuses for countries, should go under the mandate of a rejuvenated UN Trusteeship Council, which should be empowered with teaching them how to govern themselve4s. And if that sounds like benign colonialism, it should. That's exactly what it is.

  2. I'm not so sure any UN-related council can be trusted to benignly steward such a helpless country. Nonetheless, jimbo's point is near inarguable.

  3. I heard Michelle Obama will donet some of her garden veggies to the cause.

    Never waste a good crisis.

  4. Which garden veggies? The real ones or the fake plastic used by the Food Network in that WH pimp?
