The Torch Passes

"The producers of 'World News With Diane Sawyer' are so in love with their leading lady's looks that they didn't even bother to build a new set for her to sit on."  Tom Shales, Wash Post TV critic

David Hinckley NYDN: "The show's overall contents, like the visuals behind Sawyer's conservative blue suit, were designed to reassure everyone that while a few things had changed, the show's mission has not."  (I wrote Diane's jacket was black - it looked black on my ancient analog TV!)

"Network anchors are a bit like European monarchs: they don’t really matter much anymore, but people still perk up for a royal wedding or a changing of the stars." NYT's TV critic Alessandra Stanley

  1. another analogy to the inbreeding monarchs is the anchors are not the brightest bulbs in the string. I wonder who of the three has the highest IQ I would not put my money on Williams

  2. But I'm sure their collective IQ hits 3 digits.
