Salahi, Salahi, Baloney

WH press czar Robert Gibbs was up bright and early spinning tonight's Obama prime time speech on how he's planning on winning the unwinnable ask the Russians Afghan war.

On MSNBC's "Morning Joe" the queries turned to NBC's Bravo "Real Housewives of Washington" wannabe Michaele Hold Salahi and her polo-playing husband Tareq's ballsy caper to get inside the WH without an invite.

Which, All The World Knows They Did.

Gibbs to "Morning Joe": "He was angry, Michelle was angry, the Secret Service was angry."

Just ANGRY? Okay, I get it. You're trying to minimize the embarrassment.

NBC-owed Bravo cable, home of the "Real Housewives" franchise, was following around the Virginia couple recording her every move. Michaele is under consideration for the Washington reality show. Georgetown hair salon where she spent seven hours primping before the WH state dinner (they only got into the reception). Bravo follows their SUV to the WH gate.

1. Why didn't Bravo's producers insist on taking a shot of the Salahis' invitation? A no-brainer from a production standpoint.,

Was Bravo in on the con couple's caper? Was crashing the WH state dinner the final exam for Michelle's admission to "Real Wives?" If she could pull this off, she's in?

The chutzpah couple were interviewed this a.m. on the "Today" show by Matt Lauer after they canceled a Monday appearance on CNN's Larry King Live.

The "Today" show gave them an offer they couldn't refuse. Or perhaps they already had the "Today" show appearance booked, went rogue not knowing the morning show "get" rules, and NBC forced them to cancel Larry.

An NBC flack insists they didn't pay for the interview.  But NBC typically pays for airfare, transportation, and NYC hotel.  NBC:  check the food and drink bill.  I predict it's somewhere around a grand.  Count the towels and plush bathrobes.

Apparently the Salahis are terminal party crashers. The interlopers got into the Congressional Black Caucus dinner in September but were thrown out in under an hour after they couldn't produce the tickets.  DC's WTTG Fox5 and the Wash Post are reporting the pair contacted a Bob Gates Pentagon political appointee to wrangle the WH state dinner invite but were told the she had no authority.

Bravo will have buyer's remorse if the NBC-owned cable network rewards the notorious ex-Nordstrom cosmetics department salesgirl Michaele Salahi with national exposure on "Real Wives."

  1. These folks are living proof that it takes more than egg and sperm donors to make parents. And these 2 valueless clowns obviously had none.

  2. So NBC didn't fly them to NYC. I'm not changing it because it sounds funny. NBC didn't want any taint of payment so the couple did the interview from DC...
