Rhymes With Glitch

Why is it that TV news reporters dig into the most gruesome murders in ghastly on-air detail but blanche at the word "bitch?"  Why is it that FCC-regulated broadcast networks happily pimp primetime shows overflowing with sex and violence?  Has anyone watched ABC's "The View" lately?

NYC's WPIX TV anchoress Kaity Tong finds herself on the pages of the New York Daily News for merely parroting Sen. Chuck "I'd Walk A Mile For A Camera" Schumer's bitchslap of a flight attendant. He called her a "bitch" for demanding he turn off his cell phone before takeoff.

Kaity last night on the 10p news: "Chuck Schumer is famous for calling a press conference at the drop of a hat, but New York's senior senator isn't saying much about how he called a flight attendant a bitch."

Her next reference was "the b-word."

How fucking quaint and stupid. Over at NYC's WNYW former Fox News anchoress Dari Alexander coyly commented what Schumer said "rhymes with witch."

Which which?

Have we learned NOTHING since my two heroes - Lenny Bruce and George Carlin - attempted to extract the toxic juice from words we American puritans find offensive, obscene, violating community decency standards, WTF?

Lenny's obscenity trials ended with his drug deal in 1969.  George picked up the ball in the 1970s and ended up before the Supreme Court where the FCC won a landmark ruling defining indecency in the famous "Seven Dirty Words" case.

I hate hypocrisy...
