Veteran WNBC4 anchoress Sue Simmons confesses to DWA - drunk while anchoring. Simmons was accused of booze after she told co-anchor Chuck Scarborough to fuck off or something like that a year or so ago.
But Sue claims she stopped boozing before broadcasts in the 1980s. Why would she even anwer this callow TV dude's Q? Yeah, we all used to suck down the cocktails in 1970/1980 TV News Land. I knew a cameraman who drank Manhattans every day at lunch. Always wondered why the film was so jerky. Sue claims she stopped drinking before airtime because it made her eyes red. How about her tongue fuzzy? There is no Visine for a thick tongue.

I am sure many of us went on the air with a buzz - it was acceptable back then.
Sue can always get a job on Northwest Air.
We use that white stuff out here.
...and those of us in flyover country don't have a clue who these people are or even what city they are in.
