Rick Sanchez: He Bad

CNN's Rick Sanchez "apologizes" to Rush Limbaugh via Twitter:  "i've know rush. in person,i like him. his rhetoric,however is inexcusably divisive. he's right tho. we didn't confirm quote. our bad.

Sanchez got this alleged Rush quote from Wikipedia/Wikiquotes and reported it as fact:

"I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark."

Trouble was, he didn't say it. But here's Sanchez advancing the lie in what turned out to be a successful spin campaign to bar Rush from being part of a group bidding for the St. Louis Rams:
