It’s not a bad time to be buying NBC Universal, which is struggling with big assets like the peacock network (primetime Leno, anyone?) and Universal Studios (remember “Land of the Lost”? Me neither). But the company’s cable channels — CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo, SyFy and USA — are profitable jewels. NYT's David Carr in "A Big Deal, but not a Good One" on Comcast's probable acquisition of NBC Universal.

"SyFy?" I thought it was SciFi.
Re-branded. You can't copyright SciFi.
Re-branded as of June 1, I believe (or thereabouts). I think they were trying to make it a little more gay-friendly. Although, my alternate lifelstyler friends were really into Battlestar Galactica.
...and another thing - Are MSNBC and CNBC really "profitable jewels"? Bravo, SyFy, and USA I can see, since I actually watch some of the programming on those channels. But I NEVER watch CNBC and MSNBC, and I don't know many that do. There is no watercooler discussions of anything related to those two AT ALL in my place of business.
I guess I don't know s**t from shinola. Grey aliens from white...
You do too know shit from s**nola, Marty.
Or else remind me not to eat off your silver.
