CNN: Paradigm Shift

Behind door number four:  fourth place prime time  CNN.  A first.   CNN requires a paradigm shift.  Why?  CNN is suffering from paradigm paralysis: the inability or refusal to see beyond the current models of thinking.

What do you think CNN should do now?  If you ask me, CNN desperately needs another presidential election.

  1. I think the last one out (probably Wolfe) should turn out the lights.

  2. When you are behind MSNBC, that should be a wake up call that not all is well.

  3. What I hope they do is to keep on providing the straightest, least partisan, coverage available. Not perfectly straight, to be sure, but the best alternative. This isn't the fault of CNN. It's the fault of a brain-dead public which can't absorb any information without having it predigested by ideologues.

  4. What should CNN do? If it were solely for my amusement, they should take a cue from Imus' old solution for Iraq. Give the keys back to Ted Turner (he wants back in), and say, "Sorry we kicked you out Ted. Now it's yours again."

  5. CNN has done it to themselves. You reap what you sow. Fact check a SNL skit, refers to Americans as "teabaggers" (Anderson Cooper), refusing to book talk radio show hosts and more.

Just because half of the country disagrees with the president, doesn't make that half idiots. Don't talk down the viewers, present the news and if you aren't a commentator, keep your opinion out of it. It's a simple formula. People want news, non-bias news and yes, the occasional commentators. But we aren't a bunch of idiots and treating viewers that way, won't get you anywhere, now will it CNN?

Not that I care, because I haven't watched CNN in years. My choice. But CNN could become viable, I guess, if they work to appeal to moderates, I guess.

  6. The latest was following the The Administrations instructions none of their folks get to appear on Fox News. Lou Dobbs long time guest bailed on Imus. That's pretty petty, and I have never really known that Bunker Mentality to work...in the cable news wars.
