The Morning After Kennedy Hangover: Double Shot of Chris Matthews

MSNBC's Chris "Thrill Up My Leg" Matthews brands Barack Obama "the last [Kennedy] brother."  Is he fucking delusional?  Just because Ted supported Obama over Hillary?  Passing the torch?  Kennedy and the Clintons were big time rivals.

I fully expect Matthews to fall off the wagon on the air, and in a tribute to cursed alcoholic Teddy, burble between sobs:

Has anybody here seen my old friend Teddy
Can you tell me where he's gone?

I thought I saw him walkin' up over the hill
With Abraham and Martin and John.

And Bobby.  And Barack.

Dion recorded the Dick Holler song in 1968.  Holler penned 1966 hits  "Snoopy vs. the Red Baron" and "Double Shot of My Baby's Love."

  1. It didn't take long for a Ted Kennedy joke to appear on the Internet...

Ted Kennnedy went to the pearly gates after he died and said to St. Peter "I have done so much for the downtrodden masses, that I am going to get the best place to live in in heaven, right?" St. Peter just smiled and said "Before I answer that question, I want you to meet someone you sent here in 1972."

Just then, Mary Joe Kopechne came out of heaven to meet Ted. "Remember me, Teddy?" Mary Joe said to Ted Kennedy. Ted nervously replied "Look, I'm real sorry about that bridge accident, can you ever forgive me? We could hang out in heaven if you do!"

Mary Joe just laughed and said "Of course I forgive you. As for the heaven thing, it looks like you have been drinking again!"

  3. matthews said the kennedy family got 'better' with age. the reason they got better in terms of cleaning up their act was because viagra had not been invented yet.

  6. Not sure who is worse, olbie or chris. Lately i have been running to the remote to turn them off. I just don't want to ruin my evening at home. In the same sense, Hannity has become to radical in the opposite direction. I noticed that he snubbed Teddys death last evening on his show. Found that to be very clever.

  7. After designating the president as being the "last Kennedy brother", Chris Matthews broke out into an evocative rendition of "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore", followed by "Blowin In The Wind" and "What's New Pussycat".
