Carla Bruni she ain't. First time a First Lady exits Air Force One in short shorts revealing a chasm wide enough to accommodate a M1 tank. Is her left nipple poking through that white tank top? Gawd.
And get a load of how Michelle Obama maneuvers her hot pants load out of the presidential limo:

my guess that Air Force Tech or Master Sgt. is thinking "holy shit a lot of junk in that trunk"
ReplyDeletePerhaps it because I live in one of the red fly-over states, but for the life of my, I can't understand why people think she is fashionable.
ReplyDeleteAwww, c'mon, Marty! They are rock stars, not a family of statesmen and leaders! Cut them some slack...lol!
ReplyDeleteLet's see if Robin Givhan has anything useful to add (I doubt it).
Okay, I'll cut them some slacks...
ReplyDeleteMarty your comments are asinine and in poor taste. Noone comments about your fake boobs, lazy eye, our how your screwed everything in sight when you lived in DC.
ReplyDeleteMarty, you hit a nerve good on you :)
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of slacks - velvet slacks? leather slacks? :)
ReplyDeleteGood Grief. The Obamas are
ReplyDeleteawful, classless people.
When I remember the distinguished family of George W. Bush, I could fall over.
Our country is in big trouble.
I can only deduce from this web site that Michelle Obama is doing a great job as first lady because all of her faults seem to be sartorial.
ReplyDeleteLet's see: she is not creating policy (a la Hillary Clinton) and she is not hiding from the public (a la Laura Bush for the first six years). And she certainly isn't Mamie Eisenhower (a la Barbara Bush). I didn't have a problem with any of them because they were First Ladies, not the elected President. Obama is at a different point in her life -- she is the mother of young children and an educated professional who has had to give up (temporarily) her career. We all remember that Clinton didn't handle that second part gracefully.
It's obvious from the photo that Michelle Obama is not partaking in an official event. If this is such a great media site, how about some remarks on an overly instrusive and mean-spirited press corps that feels compelled to make public every embarrassing picture as if that somehow defines the person.
First her clothes are too "designer" and not flattering enough. Then the shoes are too expensive and not stilettos. Now the clothes are too casual and too revealing. You will never like anything she wears as long as her husband is President. And that's why your occasionally cleverly snarky comments seem to cross the line to cattiness.
Of course she's not Carla Bruni. She's not white and she has never been paid large sums of money to keep herself attractive. Also, her genetic makeup causes her to have a larger than normer backside. Michelle Obama hasn't posed nude either. Her husband would not even have made it to the starting line in this puritanical country.
To prove I'm equal opportunity -- I didn't like the negative attention paid to Palin's wardrobe, either.
Another Anon said "Marty your comments are asinine and in poor taste. Noone comments about your fake boobs, lazy eye, our how your screwed everything in sight when you lived in DC."
ReplyDeleteHey! Marty's saving that good stuff for the autobiography!
It's so easy to say that the reason many don't like the way she dresses is because her husband is president. No, I just don't think she is a great dresser. I'm sorry, that's my opinion.
ReplyDeleteAs for an overly-intrusive and mean press corp - you mean the stenographer lap dogs that refer to themselves as the press corp? Come on! It's the overly-intrusive and mean press corp that has push the idea that the First Lady is such a fashion phenom.
I love the it's mean to say this mantra. It wasn't mean, was it, when the press poked fun at Bush or even at Clinton (either one)?
But now, because she isn't white, no one can comment on her poor taste of clothes? This isn't the issue.
And for her thin, thin-skinned fans - this is politics and they are in the lime light. Newsflash: not everyone is going to agree with them or think they are fashion plates or king/queen of the world.
I don't recall Marty poking fun at Laura Bush and she was probably too drunk to remember poking fun at Hillary when she was first lady. All in all its really in poor taste, especially from a F list media hack.
ReplyDeleteI see your chickenshit coward of an Anon is digitally stalking you again, Marty. If a person is known by the enemies they make, you're in fine shape.
ReplyDeleteAnon - if Marty really is a "F-list" media hack that you refer to her as (which, btw Marty, this Anon thinks you're not), what does that make you?
ReplyDeleteWho are you to make this comment? Or maybe I should ask how much is HuffPo paying you post here?
I don't get paid by the Huff Po, much less read it. I am a conservative who usually votes GOP. I usually like Marty, but people in glass houses ought not through stones. There is plenty in the media to have witty and snarky comments (Ed Schultz anyone?). The bit on Michelle Obama is sad. Marty should be better than that. She is certainly smart enough. Intellegent discourse will take her blog places not this lame shit.
ReplyDeleteEd Shultz, witty and snarky? He came out and said that Conservatives wanted the president dead. That comment is witty and snarky?
ReplyDeleteI can't can't speak for Marty, but the post is snarky, imo, because the lamestreet media has made such a big deal about Mrs. Obama being such a fashionata.
Any bets it's ex-husband #3? Not many people know I had five surgeries starting at 18 months old to age 25 for lazy eyes.
ReplyDeleteGet a life. It's been 10 years. I left you. Get over it.
What does Vegas say Marty?
ReplyDeleteWas saying Ed Schultz is fair game. And not any of your exs...husbands that is. I am simply perceptive and rember what I read. And on the criticism, it sucks getting stones chucked at the swaroskie house don't it? That was the point. Marty your a bright lady and are much better than the cheap tabloid shit you put up today. Keep your focus on substitnave media criticism that you are good at.

Marty, is that your Mom?
Oh, my, a very thin-skinned Obama follower has taken offense. What did someone say just today: "The president does not have a robust sense of humor." And neither do his peeps.
ReplyDeleteDamn, now I have to get an acutal userid, because I can't be lumped in with that other, lame "anonymous".
ReplyDeleteMy mom exited the planet in 1984.
ReplyDeleteWhile the Dems are busy over-regulating the rest of us, they should throw in a dress code for occupants of the White House.
ReplyDeleteWith her $1-million plus staff of personal assistants and the likes, it is inexcusable and embarrassing for the so-called First Lady of the United States or any other nation to be dressed like this while in public--emerging from what appears to be a taxpayer-financed airplane, then a taxpayer-financed limo.
Disgraceful.
Also disgraceful are the hateful comments posted about Marty--lazy eye or not, even if she was blind, Marty would have enough class and sense to respect the seeing-eye public.
(I agree--it probably is that spiteful ex. He is "so not over you..")
