Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy(right) kicks off the Sotomayor Surpeme Court confirmation hearings two minutes ago by asking Judge Sonia to introduce all the members of her family to which Sotomayor retorted "If I introduced everyone that's family we'd be here all morning."
MSNBC is running the hearings live. Watch here. So is the Wash Post. NYT is live-blogging. Politico is on top of it.
I can't wait to see the performance new Judiciary Committee member and senator - Al Franken - turns in!

Huh? MessNBC runs this live, but doesn't bother to break into a weekend rerun to discuss Iran's election protests? Not surprising.
Yeah, I know. But that's FOREIGN NEWS...
Only in America, Franken is a Senator for 15 minutes and he get to make the first up or down vote on the next Supreme Court Justice. Wander if he will crack some one-liners?
I understand Senator Al's desire to maintain credibility, but he's had a real broomstick up his ass so far. Lighten up, Al. You're funny. Use it.
