Palindrone

Rush Limbaugh doesn't think Sarah Palin stuck a pin in her 2012 presidential balloon. "These people saying that she's an instant target because she quit, that's just inside-the-Beltway formulaic and she's not that," he said. "If anything this woman, her m.o. is outside-the-box and not formulaic."

I'm fascinated by Sarah's July 4th media event where she talked to, among others, NBC's "Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent" Andrea "Boom Boom" Mitchell. Andrea's in Alaska. The predictable teases show Andrea and Sarah walking and talking.

Andrea trekked to what she calls "a remote fishing village that her husband Todd's family has run for generations."

Andrea: "We went to Wasilla and some people are disappointed [you quit]."
Sarah: "I think that some people might not be fully aware of some of the conditions... "
Andrea: "You haven't finished the job, some would say."
Sarah: "You're not listening to me..."
Andrea: Can you imagine yourself running for president?"
Sarah: "I can't predict what the next fish run will be let alone the next couple of years."
Andrea: "Are you sorry you said yes to John McCain."
Sarah: "No, not at all... I would do it all again in a heartbeat."
Andrea: "Some people say you saw the bright lights."

So, whaddaya think, Joe Scarborough? Mika: "I think she did a great job in that [Andrea's] interview.... I'st her ability to fall flat on her face, dust herself off and keep on going... I'm sorry , hate me for this, she has five [children] and somehow she got through the past year.... I don't agree with a lot she stands for but I support her drive."

"that her husband Todd has run for generations."

"For generations"?! Hunh?

I can't decide whether that's Obamian or Bidenesque in it's sheer stupidity. Presumably Andrea meant to say "that Todd's family has run for generations". Or something.

Maybe she said family. I was trying to type as fast as she talked. I'll put in family...

You're pretty forgiving...;) I was thinking perhaps the absence of bright lights up there had left Andrea disoriented...

I have to blame me because I was trying to listen and type. I do my best but sometimes I mess up, RM.

See, it's ethical behavior like that which explains why Maureen Dowd has a NYT column, and you don't...;)

RM: Maureen is far more clever than me. In her heydey Maureen was the young columnist du jour. Excellent writer. Still is. The plagiarism thing is somewhat puzzling and so was her response. You're right. I couldn't do that.

Marty, All you have to do is blame you error on the mess you were given by the previous administration! Bush made you do it.

Outside the box and unformulaic? What the hell is Rush talking about? That Sarah was original in shooting herself in the foot while stepping on her dick? That's a marginal virtue.
