J Crew is so giddy over the deal with Michelle and the Obama girls the company put out a press release over the girls' head-to-toe J Crew get-ups. The trench coats and four pairs of shoes alone cost $782.97 according to Politico.com.
Cost far more than the ghastly flowered Talbots frock Michelle wore. Washington Post Pultizer Prize-winning fashion czarina Robin Givhan covers the Michelle fashion beat in Moscow: "There was virtually no interest here -- in Russian headlines or interviews since the first arrival -- in the coral-hued coat and Narciso Rodriguez dress [I'm guessing at least $3,000 retail] that Obama had on as she stepped off Air Force One into an unseasonably cold July afternoon, and which she later wore, with flats, to the Kremlin."
So which First Lady is better dressed? Michelle or Svetlana - Mrs. Dmitriy Anatolyevich Medvedev?

They both look just fine. However, one would think that Michelle invented style the way that some media lap-dogs are going on and on about her...
I agree, JTM. Style is Nancy Reagan in Oscar de la Renta. Bill Blass. Class is Nancy Reagan. Jackie Kennedy in Oleg Cassini.
The fashionistas are following every Michelle fashion move as if she were wearing haute couture. Okay, Narcisco Rodriguez is very nice, but this J Crew thing. What's up with that? They've gotta have some sort of deal with J Crew. Which is fine because Nancy Reagan, for example, and Jackie had deals with their favorite designers. So did Barbara Bush who favored Arnold Scaasi (Isaccs spelled backwards - his real name).
She needs to lose the belt. It doesn't work.
But, Keyboard Jockey, it's A SONIA RYKIEL!!!!!! Had to cost a small fortune....
Which belt? The silver she wears is Givenchy. The one with the orange Narcisco maybe is Narciso. The clear belt with the ugly ass housedress is Sonia R.
The flowered dress does nothing but emphasize what seems to be an oversized caboose. Whoa put a red flashing light on that puppy.
She definitely got some junk in the trunk.....
Marty, the clear one every time she puts it on it reminds me of those old Jellys Shoes, you know the plastic ones or the rubber wannabe plastic shoes :)
The Clear Belt isn't working.
Jelly shoes or jellies are shoes made of PVC plastic. Jelly shoes come in a variety of brands and colors and the material is frequently infused with glitter. The "Jelly" in its name refers to the semi-transparent materials with a jelly-like sheen. Jelly shoes were designed after World War II when there was a leather shortage in Europe. They were very popular in the 1980s, when a pair could frequently be purchased for less than one US dollar. Jellies made a comeback in the late 1990s, and once again early in the 21st century, when they gained considerable popularity with revised styles targeting adults. They resembled sandals and were most commonly flat shoes with a small.
You can still find these for sale still as cheap as ever.
