Mika Brzezinski Tops The Short List of Top Female News Talent

1970s man magnet - CBS veteran Lesley Stahl - is passing the torch to Mika Brzezinski, fingering the MSNBC star at the top of her list of rising female news talent   I’m a big fan of Mika Brzezinski on "Morning Joe." She’s become one of the "guys" on hard news subjects.

I've been thumping Mika for months. She's smart, funny, and personable.  And possesses that exotically beautiful Eastern European face.  When Joe, Mika, and I showed up for the Jim Bohannon Show at the CBS News Washington bureau last month (Joe and Mika were on before me), I  laughed to Mika she was "hot."  Mika doesn't want to be perceived as "hot."  It appears to be her hot button and she seems to bristle when interviewers invoke that label.

I've got 18 years on Mika.  Don't fight it.  When you get my age (and you told me I don't  look it), you'll still look dynamite and appreciate compliments even if they're vaguely sexual. I sat on Jim Bohannon's lap with a video camera rolling as Mika sat nearby.  I got off Jim's lap and said to Mika:  "I'm 60.  I don't care what anyone thinks. I  do whatever the f**k I want."

Back in the day young men went crazy for Lesley Stahl.  She'd come on the TV and guys would drool.  Seriously.  I was there.  I'm talking late 60s early 70s.  My ex-husband (1970-73) was madly in love with Lesley and paid zero attention to me when the then-twentyish network star was on TV.

Come on Marty. Lesley Stahl? I wouldn't do her with Olbermann's schwanz.

I would anon and I'm probably 35 years her junior. I understand why Mrs. B doesn't want to be called "hot." A lot of women feel they are taken less seriously in their jobs when that is said a lot. But what she doesn't get is is that if one is intelligent AND good looking they have it made...especially as a TV personality. But I do have two questions: 1.) What's an Eastern European face and 2.) 60? You gotta be sh**ing me!

And my lap has never been the same.
You are the world's greatest laptop, Marty! And I've got the hard drive to prove it.

Jimbo, anytime you need a back up call.

Anon: You should've seen her in the late 60s and early 70s. Trust me. She was HOT and in her twenties.

This was the same era of Raquel Welch and that poster 1,000 Years B.C. from the movie of the same name.

I had to endure a black and white movie theater size poster of a nearly naked young Raquel (she's now near 70) on the wall of the spare room.

Mika is the product of Zbig Brzezinski (born Warsaw, Poland) and a Czech-American.

It's that Karolina Kurkova/Eastern European/Russian/blonde/great alabaster skin/slightly Oriental eyes/the Ivanka Trump look.

Very beautiful and intriguing.

Jim, very funny.

I wish I had a photo of a young Lesley Stahl to show you.

I've seen the younger Leslie Stahl. Very nice, although skinny bird legs. (what a pig I am!)

You are a PIG, Jim! Lesley was born in 1941 - 8 years older than me. So she was in her late 20s early 30s when the guys went batshit over her.

Stahl still doesn't do it for me, Marty.

And I did have the Raquel Welch poster in my dorm room. Come to think of it, I also had a Steve McQueen poster in my room.

Oh my God, should I be watching Anderson Cooper?
