Kelly Bags It

FOX News morning anchor Megyn Kelly is a more than an able substitute for Bret Baier on "Special Report." The pregnant Kelly - in a silk smocked empire waist dress that matched the blue background almost perfectly - sat in for Baier Wednesday night.

The hour newscast kicked off with Kelly standing in her above-the-knee dress and de riguer this season nude peep toe pumps. Her pinkish-beige lipstick with the right amount of lip gloss was applied perfectly as well as her eye makeup. My only complaint about Kelly's shiny blonde hair? She's not getting her roots done because of the pregnancy.

Megyn Kelly possesses personality, charisma, immense talent, likability, humor, impish facial expressions, a pleasing, albeit ballsy, voice, a law degree, and a brain capable of responding on the fly.

Kelly handled the intros, a breaking news story about Afghanistan, and two segments with the Fox panel -with no visible signs of nervousness. She's comfortable enough in her own skin to seamlessly shift gears from serious to funny, giving viewers a variety in attitude and delivery. Kelly's laughter after the show's ending kicker was worth the price of admission.

Wednesday night's virgin performance proves Megyn Kelly is FOX's It Girl. Big time. Smooth operator. ye Eye candy Chris Wallace fills in Thursday night.

Megyn is the female Shep Smith and deserves her own prime time show. Self-described "non-journalist" Greta Van Susteren's contract is coming up. Dear Mr. Ailes: Jettison the tediously egotistical and stunningly superficiall Greta and her hackneyed 10p nuts, white sluts, baby killers, wife murderers, missing young blondes, celebrity fixation, and rambling unnatiural obsession with Sarah Palin.

Spot on.

She does has a tendency to get a little animated, but that ssems to be because she knows she is good.

They realy, really, really need to bring Shep to a prime time slot or use him to balance Hannity. Hannity now has what; 4 or 5 hours a day on the airwaves? I was not the biggest Alan Comes fan, but he needs someone to tell him when is full of shit.

I think Shep could handle that role + his current role, at a minimum.

Hannity is unwatchable at times, unlike Glenn Beck. I enjoy Beck's unbalanced act without Hannity's harsh edge...

Wtf. You're obviously in love with her looks rather than how well she performed yesterday. She was OK... Not a blowout as you thought. Jim Angle does a much better sub job, and sometimes so does Chris.

And your last paragraph? I don't even want to comment on it =_=

Dear Marcus: Jim Angle might be better but he's got a bad hair dye job.

I love her personality, Marcus. She's got spunk, as Lou Grant observed of Mary Tyler Moore.

Chris Wallace is excellent as well.

Marcus, I admit I'm not a Greta fan. Scientologists are suspect to me. Also lawyers who nearly are disbarred for soliciting West Virginia coal miners along with her lawyer husband John Coale. No joke. Why is Greta's husband doing legal work for the Palins? I simply believe Greta is unprincipled, one-dimensional, and narcissistic.

And one more thing: Greta doesn't seem to be grateful to the cable network that put her on TV: CNN. She trashes it at every turn. Classless.

I am not a huge Greta fan also. I do believe she's the weakest prime time host on FNC. However, I do not believe Megyn is ready to replace Greta, but whenever Greta retired [or is replaced], Megyn should be first in line to replace her.

Honestly, the best Greta replacement for me so far was Jamie Colby [I think that's her name]. If Megyn gets her own show at 10:00, I expect to be a bit more "confrontational" though.

Marcus, you may be right about Megyn not being ready now. Yeah, it is Jamie Colby. She's great. FOX has a fine stable of talent - male and female.

I'm certain Megyn would be more confrontational. Special Report, in my opinion, is the best straight evening newscast on any network.

Special Report is a must-see for me.

Confidence, brains, and yes beauty, Megyn seems to have it all. Wonder if she uses a teleprompter? Kelly can look into the camera and make you feel like she is sitting across a table talking to just you.
If she did replace Greta, the show would move from tabloid to hard news and cometary. Of course without Greta how else would we Fox viewers ever learn what might have happened to Natalie Holloway or Jocko for the 1000th time?
