Karl Malden Checks Out

Karl Malden left home without his American Express Travelers Checques.  Cut him some slack.  Malden was 97.

Talk about six degrees of separation.  Hospitalized California Dem Congressman Henry Waxman (checked in the same day Karl exited the planet - July 1) got a bill passed in 2005 to change the name of an LA post office to Karl Malden Postal Station.

When I went to Europe during the past three years, I might as well have left my Amex Travelers Checques home. Just about every place doesn't take them.

RIP Karl. I loved you in Patton.

A class act.

My favorite Karl Malden role ever was when he played the bartender in "The Gunfighter" opposite Gregory Peck. Really understated role in which he really played off of Gregory Peck's character really well. Gregory Peck received an Oscar nomination for his role but Karl should've gotten one too...

Somewhere Karl and Jimmy Durante are having a heavenly schnozz-off.

I loved Karl Malden in the TV series with Michael Douglas "Streets of SF."

Malden promised Kirk he'd take Kirk's son under his wing.
