CNBC: Making Lemons Out Of Lemonade

CNBC's excuse to go off the wall with the Staples Center Michael Jackson orchestration was that the business network would cover the business aspects of Jackson's untimely death.

A CNBC guy negates any shred of credibility he might possess by positing on his blog that Jackson's death event will bring bucks to Staples. "Moronic," scoffs biz columnist Jonathan Berr of Darren Rovell's Jacko wacko linkage:

Rovell then goes on to quote Eric Wright of "sponsorship evaluation firm" Joyce Julius Associates that Staples will get between $65 million and $75 million in "advertising exposure" from the funeral.... This is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.... The last thing anyone will be thinking of is office supplies. Michael Jackson is not going be responsible for any of the $23.9 billion in revenue the Framingham, Massachusetts–based company is expected to earn by Wall Street.
