Lowering the bar: the New York Times columnist refuses to admit she lifted a graf from a Cheeto-consuming left-wing blogger for Sunday's column, instead claiming a "friend" gave her the line. NewsBusters has the poop on this plagiarizing dirthag more into cosmetic procedures than journalistic procedure.
Marty,
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the standards are at the Jayson Blair Times? Still this is LAZY it isn't the first time I have come across this behavior a writer regurgitating one blog or another. Maureen doesn't want to be known as a blogger does she? That's not progress Maureen, that's why you are getting so much attention you are a WRITER. You are the "WELL" not the Bucket Carrier.
Why not just admit she lifted the guy's stuff and be done with it? Nobody believes otherwise...
ReplyDeleteI like her red heels though.
ReplyDeleteThe Times fixed the attribution this morning online. Still it is messy and sloppy. Is Maureen Dowd bored with what she has to write about? Perhaps she should try writing about the current administration's short comings there have been a butt load.
ReplyDeleteJosh Marshall is NOT a "Cheeto-consuming left-wing blogger." Sheesh. From Wikipedia, just FYI:
ReplyDeleteJoshua Micah Marshall (born February 15, 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American Polk Award-winning journalist who founded Talking Points Memo, which The New York Times Magazine called "one of the most popular and most respected sites" in the blogosphere. He currently presides over a network of sites that operate under the TPM Media banner and average 400,000 page views every weekday and 750,000 unique visitors every month. Marshall and his work have been profiled by The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Financial Times, National Public Radio, The New York Times Magazine, the Columbia Journalism Review, Bill Moyers Journal, and GQ. Hendrik Hertzberg, a senior editor at The New Yorker, compares Marshall to the influential founders of Time magazine. "Marshall is in the line of the great light-bulb-over-the-head editors. He’s like Briton Hadden or Henry Luce. He’s created something new."

Marshall is a graduate of the Webb Schools of California and Princeton University and earned a Ph.D. in American history from Brown University
Thanks Josh Marshall for clearing that up LOL! Really who cares? I don't know Josh Marshall from a hole in the ground. Now Maureen Dowd I am familiar with her writing.
ReplyDeleteKJ,
ReplyDeleteApparently, if you are familiar with MoDowd's writing, then you are apparently familiar with Josh's writing too!
Actually, I am surprised that Mo didn't accuse Josh of plagiarizing HER, post facto!
Anonymous, are you saying that Maureen Dowd is ghost blogging as Josh Marshall? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think Maureen could do better than Huffington Post if she did decide to start blogging. Maureen has got the taint on her now though, this story is all over the place,. Maureen's got huffington post cooties LMAO.
ReplyDeleteHey Maureen look, I am attributing a comment LOL! The best comment so far on Maureen's explanation of the exact same wording in her article. HOT AIR
