"The New York Times editorial page is like a left-wing blog." MSNBC's Joe Scarborough excoriating the Times for running the Pelosi waterboarding denial story on page A 20. Joe noted the "Today" show led with it. The NYT's excuse? The paper's website thumped the story all day yesterday, sez Joe.

Pelosi's got her plastic tit in a wringer big time. As Scarborough warned today: "You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit in the wind... you don't mess around with the CIA."

Scratch the surface of Pelosi's fantastical denials for this nugget: "The Obama administration's CIA director, Leon Panetta, and Mr. Goss have both disputed Mrs. Pelosi's account." Karl Rove WSJ

What this tells me is that the White House wants to ease Nancy Pelosi out of the Speaker's chair.

Wash Post: "Pelosi's performance in the Capitol was either a calculated escalation of a long-running feud with the Bush administration or a reckless act by a politician whose word had been called into question. Perhaps it was both."

"Thank you!" an aide called out to signal an end to the session. Pelosi walked, sideways, away from the lectern and, still sidling in a sort of crab walk, was halfway to the door when a yell from CNN's Dana Bash, rising above the rest of the shouting, froze her in the aisle. "Madam Speaker!" the correspondent called out. "I think there's one other question that I would like to ask, if that's okay." "Sure, okay," Pelosi said, in a way that indicated it was not okay. Pelosi had no choice but to sidle back to the lectern....
