Specter cares nothing about Republicans or Democrats. He only cares about Arlen Specter keeping his Senate seat. He would have been drubbed in the Republican primary.
ReplyDeleteSince the Repubs have to put up with John McCain it's only fair that Arlen Specter will be a pain in the ass for the Dems. Good.
ReplyDeleteSpecter avoided being Joe Liebermanned right out of his seat. Both parties are setting up ideological purity tests which may come back to haunt them.
ReplyDeleteGreat point Al. I actually heard a similar thought from Rachel Maddow last night.. Specter is opposed to most everything the current administration is in favor of. He backed the porkulus bill just to try to save his save his ass in Pennsylvania. Not really a 60th vote for sure. Maybe we need a third party called Limpdicks who stand for nothing and represent no one?
