So Arlen Specter is going Democrat. It would've been so delicious had MSNBC blowhard Chris Matthews bagged TV for that Pennsylvania Senate run. Against Specter. As a Democrat. Obama's acting like he's shocked, shocked! at the news of Republican Senator Specter's defection.
The politically expedient move saves Specter a primary where, as a Republican, his opponent was ahead.
The Senate gets another Dem. 59 now.
Specter is politically rewarded by grateful Democrats. But nobody's talking about the deal Specter got.
When it should be time for this guy to be ending his career, he thinks that the Senate cannot survive without him and moves to the other(dark) side. This enables him to take "his partys" nomination and head into the general election unscathed. He would have not been re-elected as a Republican. TRAITOR! The dems will be toasting Spectors name tonight. Hold um high!!!!!!

ReplyDeletewell old arlen finally came out of the closet. the republicans had reservations about him back a few yers ago with respect to chairmanship of the judical commitee if I recall correctly. they however remainded true to him. so now it's time to repay as only a self serveing no class politican can do. just remember arlen, pay back is a bitch.
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked in DC I met some of his staff in a local watering hole & they didn't have too many nice things to say about him. I do hope that the Repub nominee just mops the floor with him in the next election. It would be a just political end for that fellow...

ReplyDeleteChris Mathews was crying in his beer last evening on the Keith O show. He was dreaming of what might have been. Does Chris get the same thrill up his leg for Specter as he does for Obama? Hell no. Specter dashed all his hopes and stole Chris' candy.
