Joe Blows

You can take the Republican out of the House but you can't take the House out of the Republican. MSNBC's lone Republican voice - former Florida Congressman Joe Scarborough - had it up to his keister as I pointed out when I heard it yesterday a.m. - with his liberal network's (and CNN's) slamming of the tea party protests.

TV industry blogs make it sound like Joe's politically pissed. Au contraire. Joe is the Voice of Reason and Propriety in a new era of broadcast journalism where the ring masters deliberately let the elephants run amok.

Where's MSNBC boss Phil Griffin? I don't give a rat's ass what Scarborough thinks. Let me inside Griffin's brain. And CNN's Jon Klein.

Did MSNBC task low-paid grunts to come up with sexually-charged tea phrases? Rachel: INSANITEA. Olbermann & Shuster's key graphic: Two dangling tea bags colored blue for blue balls with the words Conservative Tea Baggers.

CNN's Anderson Cooper weighed acknowledging his encyclopedia knowledge of homosexuality for comedy and comedy won with: "It's hard to talk when you're teabagging." ICN: "Bad move, dude."

For your viewing pleasure Johnny Dollar's Place puts it all in perspective:

  1. Elephants run amok? Don't you mean "asses run amok"?

I would just LOVE to see the backlash, the uproar, if a network like Fox pulled stunts like this. It was disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Aside from the nasty connotations, if ever there were any doubt of whether they are biased or not, I think this should clear the air some. I was not at all surprised at anyone who took part, except for Anderson Cooper. THAT disappointed me. I thought he had a little more class.

  3. the only semblance of the nbc I worked for for 18 years are the letters nbc. it is a disgracful company run by punks with no redeeming value. I have been retired from television management for 5 years and I can not belive how far the industry as a whole has regressed. not just news but the business and entertainment side as well. no standards. I no longer watch them. I lie some sports and MTP depending on the guest. Any manager with half a brain and an ounce of backbone would fire these three in a new york minute.

  4. Wonder if Egbert Roscoe Murrow would have swallowed any of this teabagging journalism?

  5. Mr. Murrow, Mr. Chronkite, and others of their era would have reported the NEWS. There was a story to be covered whether you agree with the sentiment or not. If you don't care for the message at least let others hear it with out your or the news company's bias.
So this was a Fox event, maybe they just covered it better. Wonder why their ratings are through the roof?

Bob Moore: You're probably the only one other than me who knows Murrow's real name.

Thanks for your insight, Mr. ex-NBC exec!

  9. Edward R. (Roscoe) Murrow changed his first name from Egbert to Edward when he was in college.

Nonetheless, his close personal friends always thought Murrow was forever a good egg.
