Reaping What They Sow

The Washington Post outs some Republicans who wangled earmarks in Obama's budget bill for which they didn't vote. Obama signed the bill in secret yesterday. What? No public display of affection?

  1. Perhaps we really need a web site with the total list of pork. I believe all are guilty especially the Prez who reportedly signed it in a back alley of DC. I guess he felt no one would realize he did it.

  2. I'd like to see that, Bob. A website listing the pork and who put it in there.

They should all be ousted in 2012. We need to start fresh.

  3. Just to add... these Senators probably kept their pork in this bill, even when opposing the thing, knowing full well that it would pass.

And does Obama keep referring to this as "last year's business"? Because it may be "last year's business" but he's in charge now. I wonder if Bush could be persuaded to send Obama that little sign he kept on his desk that said, "The buck stops here". Then again, I get the feeling Obama wouldn't necessarily understand what it means.

  4. Amy,

By the looks of things in this White House, NO BUCK will ever stop in this office. Every one we can print will rollout somewhere.

  5. To the Repubs, "pork" is a noun meaning what they take from us. To the Dems it is a verb meaning what they do to us.

  6. Like that, Al! Pork as a verb was popular on my college campus in the late 1960s.
