Maureen Dowd: Illogical Human

Maureen Dowd NYT
: "...Obama has a bit of Mr. Spock in him (and not just the funny ears). He has a Vulcan-like logic and detachment. Any mere mortal who had to tell liberals that our obligations in Iraq and Afghanistan are far from over and tell Republicans that he has a $3.6 trillion budget would probably have tears running down his face."

Spock: "Captain, you almost make me believe in luck."
Obama: "Why, Mr Spock! You almost make me believe in miracles!"

  1. Clever of Ms. Dowd to attempt equating our president's rhetorical abilities to the much-beloved Star Trek character. I see few similarities. For starters, Vulcans cannot lie but Mr. Obama has shown a skillful ability - perhaps even a propensity - to do so.

  2. I agree, Al. Maureen took too much Xanax before writing today's column...

  3. "Beam me up Scotty, There is no sign of intellegent life here." So sez the presumptuous Obama a legend in his own mind.

  4. "couldn't Obama's detachment also be explained as narcissism? But Maureen didn't want to look for an iconic narcissist? It's not like there aren't plenty of examples.

SCI FI- Science Fiction, for the Genre re Spock comparison. Marty think about it, OUTER SPACE, now there is the interesting place for Maureen to be drawing any comparisons for Obama. Is Maureen sending us coded messages:) Is she trying to tell us Obama is way out there...I am receiving the message loud and clear LOL!

  6. Obama must be a Spock in disguise. He has already completed the Vulcan mind meld with the press. Agree? he has also proposed a budget this is out of this world putting it mildly.

  7. President Obama has more in common with a conniving Romulan than a logical Vulcan. As for some in the press... well, they're in love.
