An ex-congressman is calling for an investigation into CNBC's Jim Cramer. My former neighbor, Virginia Republican Tom Davis (no relation). Tom was on the committee looking into hedge fund fraud - which Cramer insists he didn't commit as a hedge fund manager in the 1990s. "I played fair... I didn't go to Harvard Law School for nothing!"
Rival CNN isn't buying it in "Money Gone Mad":
The Cramer Smoking Gun is a blabby interview he did three years ago and now must regret on how he manipulated the market: "You know, a lot of times when I was short and I was positioned short, meaning I needed it down, I would create a level of activity beforehand that could drive the futures. Similarly, or if I were long, and I would want to make things a little bit rosy, I would go in and take a bunch of stocks and make sure that they're higher and maybe commit five million in capital to it and I could affect it."

Cramer is just another in a long line of carney folks that have come around since time began. Bottom line, what he did was legal, maybe not ethical, but legal. That mentality has been good for many for years.
