"It might be a bit of a stretch to compare today's corporate titans with the commander in chief, but--" ABC News, stop right there!Didn't you just know this was coming? A disgruntled Wall Street slug (or maybe the prez of ABC) spinning the hypocrisy of Obama going after corporate CEOs while collecting 400 grand a year and perks beyond belief. Next thing somebody'll claim the prez gets free cigarettes that he lies (to Anderson Cooper) he's never puffed inside the WH or on the grounds.
When corporate America starts preserving, protecting, and defending the constitution of the United States, then it can make the comparison. And Obama is SUPPOSED to be living off the federal dollar. He's a federal employee (even though most don't get the jet and the public housing). Corporate America, which has made so much of how it thrives in the real world of unbridled capitalism, is the one coming hat in hand to suck at the taxpayer tit. Bailouts with strings attached? Hell, the bailouts should come with steel cables attached. And hard criminal time for CEO's who violate any of the restrictions, since that's all that'll reach most of these leaches.
ReplyDeleteThere will be plenty of opportunities to criticise President Obama in the years ahead, and likely many of those will involve hypocrisy. But the perks of the presidency are just that and the whining fat cats should just shut up.
ReplyDeleteAs you know, jimbo, the president gets two 747s wherever he flies.
I have some advice for Obama: I saw him in the prez limo today before he hopped on Air Force One for his virgin flight as prez. I could see Obama chewing gum in the limo. You KNOW he's doing to to mask the cigarette smoke.
ReplyDeleteAs a frequent puffer of clove cigarettes, the best chewing gum is Eclipse Polar Ice. If you're chewing another brand, Mr. President, try it. Eclipse is change you can believe in...
Jim, I agree with you re: steel cables attached to this obscene bailouts. I heard tonight that Obama's telling the truth slowly to these fat cats. 500K pay cap now no bonuses..
