NBC: Takes A Licking & Keeps On Ticking

Shakespeare: "What's past is prologue." NBC is resurrecting sponsored shows. Stuart Elliot NYT Remember John Cameron Swayze's 15-minute "Camel News Caravan" that debuted on NBC in 1949?

Swayze was best known for his Timex commercials challenging the watch's durability in bizarre tests with the tag line "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking."

I hear where Linda Lovelace is getting a new reality show, in which she duplicates the movie "Deep Throat" despite coming down with a case of Rocky Mountain Spotted fever, thereby proving that she can take a ticking and keep on licking...
