Perhaps CBS News leaked the speculation to the NYO to signal to 71-year-old Bob (who now wants to stay on) that it's time for him to saddle up and ride into the sunset...
I like the pairing of Newt Gingrich and Al Gore reminiscent of the SNL send-up of "60 Minutes" James Kilpatrick and Shana Alexander's "Point Counterpoint." Dan Ackroyd and Jane Curtin played the James and Shana roles with Ackroyd/James famouse riposte: "Jane, you ignorant slut!"
